Into the Flow of February

How Powerful are We?

As we move into the second (calendar) month of the year... into the beauty... and pangs of love, this new month brings us the ability to let go and embrace what may be waiting for us... through us... through the work of becoming ourselves.

February was originally the last month of the Roman calendar; representing a time for deep cleansing and expiation (making amends) before the Roman new year began in March. Ironically, we also enter into a new astrology season of Pisces on Feb 19th, the last sign of the zodiac which is associated with endings and transitions embodying the qualities of wisdom, compassion from the lessons we've learned.

Experiencing lessons are not the same as learning them.

Asking ourselves this month, what should we let go and make room for more of can be a difficult question. But if we channel the wisdom of all the knowledge that came before us; is asking the question the hard part... or seeing the answer is what we truly fear? Journal Prompt: What is self-love? Do you practice it daily through physical movement, nutrition and mental practices? How are you showing yourself love?

Synchronicity Found in February

I like wondering whether February is named after Februus, the god of purification, or maybe for the goddess, Juno and the aspect of the role she plays in Februa. She is a deity of cleansing and fertility; representing the fertility aspect. Februus is the purification aspect. Both are two sides of the same coin, two facets of the same purificatory (having the ability to cleanse or purify) traditions of the month.

As we begin into the month of February, it is makes sense "to purge or cleanse," the feelings of the heart. Where many people struggle with love lost, being alone... or relationships falling short of commercial expectations placed on society, ancient knowledge has told us to make room... let go... and cleanse ourselves of feeling these thoughts of loss or less than.

View this month from understanding... it's not through loss... or being alone... or what others have and what we have not but through the powerful lessons of purging and making room. Even in the best of relationships (with others) there is always room for personal assessment and letting go of limiting beliefs to love deeper and fuller beginning from a place WITHIN OURSELVES first. Journal Prompt: What are will willing to purge to make room for?

Connecting Cosmic Dots of Ancient Knowledge of the Zodiac and Yoga Nidra.

Now, is the perfect time to begin a yoga nidra practice... to sit back and allow yourself to become the silent observer where you allow healing in through the passages of cleansing away... letting go... and releasing the discomforts held in the body and mind.

There is never a better time than when a message is delivered to you through divine timing everything comes together. When we think of this month, February... the cleansing.. the purification... the releasing and letting go... it makes sense to relax into ourselves and let what anchors us to release the better version of ourselves to the surface.

Yoga Nidra, the Awaken Sleep
Yoga Nidra, the Awaken Sleep

In yoga nidra, you travel a labyrinth of layers known as koshas. We move through the realms of physical, energetic, mental, intellectual, and bliss body... I explain this in class as your true self... a place of peace. This is a place where our true sense of self is peaceful and healing moves freely through us.

In each layer, I ask you to step back and become a silent observer... this allows you to get out of your own way and allow the alignment of your mind, body and spirit move into a place of healing. Practicing yoga nidra through listening to a guided meditation allows you to move through this puzzle within us and releasing and letting go...purging... cleansing and make ourselves anew. Journal Prompt: If I could let go of one emotion, what would it be?

Astrological Synchronicity is a Sign to Let Go

When we think of love, most think of love lost... and not love of opportunity. Some live in the past. Some working through integrating lessons of personal self-love. And others are finding out where they stand when it comes to prioritizing themselves into the equation of their life. Most of us are battling, working through and re-evaluating our boundaries. What will we... and won't we allow into our lives. Because we control access, it is on us to decide where we stand in our own lives first.

When we think of February, should consider the fullness of what this month brings?

Moving into the astrological flow of Pisces and into the end of the astrological year, it's no coincidence that Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac because it's associated with endings and transitions. So, should the month of February be focused on the lack of our relationships, single-dom, what was / is in couple-hood or should we be embracing the art of self-love?

Once again, we see how the ancient knowledge you've read up to this point leans into similar territory.

So, if we flip that coin and whether it lands heads... or tails up... It is always in your favor, if you choose to see it as so. Take this time to embrace the possibilities before you as you ask yourself the following..

Journal Prompt: How did I embrace self-love last year?

Choose Radicalizing Self-Love

On every flight I've ever taken... the stewards of the plane walk us through the masks that will fall from overhead... INSTRUCTING us to place the mask over ourselves first BEFORE anyone else.

Shouldn't this be the advice in any aspect of our life?

I've learned through self love, I'm a better parent when I love myself... I'm better, kinder... and more gentle in all aspects of my life, when I LOVE myself from a place of self love; healthy love. When we take care of ourselves, we are able to love of others at a higher level.

Commercializing Love

While the US markets line the shelves with red and pink, fluffy teddy bears, over-stocked aisles with candy, sugar and single roses, Valentine's Day cards for everyone and anyone under the sun... You won't see a VALENTINE'S DAY card proclaiming Self-Love... a card to you from you. Take the opportunity to RADICALIZE self-love.

Give the gift of love to yourself. Shed, cleanse, purge, let go... and allow in all the healthy love and healing available to you through the act of self love. Journal Prompt: Where do you stand on buying yourself or giving to yourself this month?

Final thoughts...

I didn't mean to take you down rabbit holes when I began this blog this morning. But you deserve a peek behind the curtain to see how all things are connected.

I want you to know you are the key that connects all of this... I hope you found this information helpful and the journal prompts something you can work with.

Ending out the astrological year, beginning a new month... or stepping into 2026 all begins with you. Where ever you are this year, let self-love be part of your journey!

Warm wishes,

Polly Behringer
