3rd Annual Release Reset Wellness Retreat: Why should I apply?

the perfect view from our nature walk during the retreat!

I really need to dig through my attic and find my photo from the first time I step onto the land where I'll be holding my 3rd Annual RELEASE RESET | Wellness Retreat. I feel transported back to the place each time a memory resurfaces... when the Oklahoma air blows and I can hear the wind in my tree on my front porch....

So, why does someone need to complete an application to attend?

That's a great question. This thought probably surfaced when you reading there was an application process. Over the years of hosting retreats, classes, seminars and group trainings, I learned everyone may be on similar journeys, but not in the same space... emotionally.

Room Sharing or Having my Own Space?

I've attended trainings where I traveled out of the country and lived with others, sharing a space with a roommate. I've traveled to countries where I shared a room with 8 strangers... to 150 strangers. I've attend some of the most powerful trainings that altered the trajectory of my life and choose a single room alone... but found myself sharing the balcony space with other choosing to pay more for my own room & bathroom. And as I'm edging towards turning 55 (Jan 2026), I'm choosing to book an Air BNB room / bathroom share because I no longer need my own space and appreciate the community.

Why Do You Need to Apply to Attend a Retreat?

If you're considering attending the Release Reset Annual Wellness Retreat, you might wonder why there's an application process involved. While it may seem like an extra step, this process is designed to ensure that both you and the organizers get the most out of the experience. Here’s why applying is so important:

1. Making Sure It’s the Right Fit

Not every retreat suits everyone. The application helps both you and the organizers determine if this experience aligns with your goals, expectations, and current needs. It’s a way to ensure that you’re in the right environment to thrive.

2. Connecting with Like-Minded People

Retreats often foster close bonds and meaningful connections. By applying, you help create a community of participants who share similar interests or aspirations. This makes the experience more enriching and supportive for everyone involved.

In my public RELEASE RESET | Yoga classes, I began asking everyone to introduce themselves. Through their (invaluable) feedback, I learned asking them to share something about themselves has some of them feeling placed on the spot. I've heard they listen to others in the class and wonder if they're falling short of where they should be.

In the last class, I asked, What's your favorite scent? The answers everyone shared was insightful, playful and softened the vibration of the class. I had one student say, Bacon! We all laughed and one of the students said they were going to say the same thing! Someone said Patchouli, another said the smell of lavender, another tried to explain the scent of their favorite incense and another the smell of the clean linen.

3. Ensuring Your Safety and Comfort

Some retreats involve activities that require specific health or physical considerations. I attended a BJJ & Yoga Retreat... and I knew I wanted to be at certain level of physicality to attend. The training in India required a written application + an interview before being selected. Even then, not everyone that attended received the certification of training. Nothing was guaranteed. The application process allowed them to place me with a roommate on similar path. And the fit created a lifelong friendship.

The application helps myself understand your needs so I can provide appropriate accommodations and ensure a safe and supported experience. Safety is key for me in my upcoming retreats, classes and workshops. In the past, it was at the forefront...BUT I could have done a better job for many reasons; but asking the right the right questions I believe is key to preparation and selection. I have learned since then how to move forward to create a much more powerful, retreat.

4. Clarifying Expectations

Applying allows you to communicate your goals and what you hope to gain from the retreat. It also gives organizers a chance to share what the retreat will offer, helping you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

5. Contributing to a High-Quality Experience

Many retreats have limited spots and high demand. The application process helps select participants who are genuinely interested and committed, ensuring a focused, meaningful, and impactful experience for everyone.

The application asks questions like; how do you feel about room share, fasting, vegetarian food options, nature walks, what you're already doing for self care... All of these questions help me (the facilitator) look at future options... If this retreat isn't for you, you need a 1 day retreat... and you must have a meat... This is something I would / could consider in my retreats between now and then... and then and beyond!

Growth is like the nature... It needs a nurturing environment.

6. Committing to Your Personal Growth

Joining a retreat often involves investing your time, energy, and resources. The application process encourages you to reflect on your intentions and commitment, making sure you’re ready to fully engage and benefit from the experience.

How do I apply and WHY is there a cost?

Why is there so much emotional connection around money?
Why is there so much emotional connection around money?

I take you very seriously. I take each application seriously and the reviewing process will be very time consuming, but I want to ensure this retreat will be top notch!

Why is do you have to pay to complete the application; is a great question. On top of creating the application, the time on writing blogs explaining the retreat applications process... it's the reviewal process that takes about 4 - 6 hours per applicant. Once a person is selected, there is a consideration on who they will room with... another 4+ hours of time. Along with taking note of all your answers to create the highest, optimal experience for you, I need to ensure you're as serious as I am.

And there's a great quote about having skin in the game. "Skin in the game" means you have a personal stake, risk (often financial), or investment in a venture's outcome, so you're truly committed, not just an outsider giving advice.

In Short

Applying to a retreat isn’t just about securing a spot—it’s about making sure that the experience will be meaningful and beneficial for you. It helps create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where you can grow, connect, and leave with lasting memories.

Note from Polly Behringer

I know 2026 3rd Annual RELEASE RESET | Wellness Retreat is going to be phenomenal. I foresee the retreat's spots selling out month's before the retreat itself. I'm putting everything I've learned into this upcoming retreat and that also means what I've learned about myself personally & professionally.

I see this retreat being a top-tiered experience that people around the world and across the United States will be drawn into attending. I see a lot. I'm willing to do the work to make this exceptional... because the butterfly effect from those attending will change themselves, change those around them... and the professional / personal lives. I can see this. I believe in this... And I'm all in!
